      MPPA Pickets City Hall Over Working Conditions

      Members of the Medford Police Patrolmen's Association stood in the rain Tuesday night (11/30/16) to send a clear message that they are fed up with the deplorable working conditions at Police Headquarters.  Holding picket signs that said "Enough is Enough...Fix It!!!" the MPPA sent the message to City Hall that the time to fix things at 100 Main Street is now.

      MPPA Petitions Department of Labor Relations to Exercise Jurisdiction Over Negotiations

      The members Medford Police Patrolmen's Association are now working without a contract for one year as of today. The MPPA has petitioned the Department of Labor Relations to assume jurisdiction over the current negotiations with the City.  A tentative date of July 16th has been set for mediation.

      Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke swore in four new Police Officers on March 16, 2016.  Brian Enos, Shawna McNeill, Kevin Purifory, and Collin Tracy were sworn in by Mayor Burke in her office Wednesday afternoon.  Chief Sacco, Captain Kevin Faller, Lieutenant Paul Covino, Lieutenant Jack Buckley, Lieutenant Joe Casey, and Patrolmen Lee Enos attended the ceremony.

      The Medford Police Patrolmen's Association recently had Compensatory Time restored after an almost eight month battle with Mayor Michael McGlynn.  The MPPA and City of Medford had reached a Settlement Agreement to resolve a pending 2011 arbitration case in regards to the accumulation and use of Compensatory Time.
